Summer workshops, coaching, and tools to successfully navigate the college admissions process

  • The NHEF is focused on providing career and college resources to NHHS students. To help our college bound seniors prepare their common application essays over the summer months, the NHEF is pleased to offer two workshop opportunities.

WORKSHOP 1: June 17 – June 21

The NHHS English Department, in conjunction with the NHEF, will offer a one-week workshop. Students can register for one of two sessions (morning or afternoon) which are 2.5 hours each day. NHHS teachers  will work with participants to develop a working draft of their college essay.

DATES: June 17 – June 21

TIMES: 9:00 am – 11:30 am  OR 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm


CAPACITY:  30 students per session

COST: $150

WORKSHOP 2: August 6, 8, 13 and 15

An Independent College Advisor, Ms. Lori Hofstetter, will guide participants to write an effective common application essay or personal statement. Students meet Tuesdays / Thursdays and will be required to work on their essays between classes for a total of four sessions. Lori will meet individually with each student during the second week and all students will leave the workshop with a working draft of their essays.
